About the position

The Senior Engineer, Artificial Intelligence / Microscopy Computer Vision role at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine focuses on developing innovative AI and computer vision solutions to address scientific challenges in biomedical imaging. This position is part of the Data Science Analytics & Insights Team and may be fully remote within the US. The role involves designing and implementing advanced models to extract insights from biomedical data, contributing to drug discovery, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement AI and computer vision solutions for biomedical imaging challenges.
  • Develop and optimize models to extract insights from complex biomedical image and video data.
  • Contribute to scalable core technologies for deploying computer vision solutions across various imaging modalities.
  • Create research and product roadmaps for computer vision applications in drug discovery.
  • Deploy models using containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Utilize high-performance computing resources for managing large-scale datasets.
  • Communicate complex technical methods and results to diverse audiences.
  • Lead collaborations and engage with stakeholders to identify AI solution opportunities.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline or a Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in computer vision research and AI methods development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, C++, or Java.
  • Experience with AI frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and OpenCV.
  • Extensive experience with computer vision techniques such as object detection, image segmentation, and classification.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data handling for large-scale image datasets.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • High motivation to drive projects independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with biomedical imaging data such as pathology and radiology.
  • Experience with multi-GPU workloads for training and inference.
  • Familiarity with drug discovery and clinical development processes.
  • Experience in disease biology areas like cancer or immunology.
