About the position

As a Senior Engineer specializing in Cloud Security at White & Case, you will be an integral part of a dynamic global team responsible for developing, implementing, and operating the worldwide infrastructure of the firm. Your role will focus on enhancing the efficiency of the team through automation development and providing guidance on best practices for technology design and implementation, particularly in cloud technologies. You will be tasked with aligning and integrating the global infrastructure technology and methods within the firm's complete technology portfolio, ensuring a seamless integration of applications, services, and infrastructure. In this position, you will implement and maintain security policies and controls specifically for cloud environments, with a strong emphasis on platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, and M365. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and hardening cloud operating systems to ensure compliance with security best practices and standards. You will also automate cloud security tasks and processes using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Gitlab, which will help increase efficiency and mitigate risks associated with cloud security. Regular vulnerability assessments of cloud systems and applications will be part of your duties to protect against potential threats and incidents. Collaboration with the IT team will be essential to support infrastructure as code initiatives and ensure that security is integrated across the entire cloud stack. Staying updated with the latest security trends, threats, and technology solutions relevant to cloud-based technologies will be crucial for your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain security policies and controls for cloud environments, focusing on Azure, AWS, GCP, and M365 platforms.
  • Monitor and harden cloud operating systems and platforms to ensure compliance with security best practices and standards.
  • Automate cloud security tasks and processes using Ansible, Terraform, Gitlab, and other tools to increase efficiency and reduce risks.
  • Perform regular vulnerability assessments of cloud systems and applications to protect against threats and incidents.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to support infrastructure as code initiatives and ensure security integration across the cloud stack.
  • Stay updated with the latest security trends, threats, and technology solutions relevant to Cloud based technologies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Security Cloud Engineer, with solid expertise in Azure, AWS, GCP, M365 and app security infrastructure.
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate.
  • AWS Certified Security.
  • Strong experience in implementing security best practices and compliance standards for cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and maintain a cloud security strategy and architecture.
  • Strong Python, Bash, and PowerShell scripting experience.
  • Experience writing Terraform scripts and familiarity with cloud orchestration tools is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GIT with Gitlab experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in teams of highly skilled technical professionals.
  • Professional experience in working effectively with business stakeholders, project managers, technology teams and end users in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal.
  • Possess effective communication skills and has extensive experience with facilitating regular touchpoint calls/meetings/Teams sessions.
  • Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of grasping new concepts without prior experience.
  • Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, and creative.
  • Ability to travel or work overtime, as needed.
  • Fluency in English.

  • Relevant certifications such as Azure Security Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Security Specialty, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer.
