About the position

Toyota's Cybersecurity and Risk Management (CSRM) group is on a mission to become a global leader in cybersecurity within the mobility sector. As a Senior Engineer in Cybersecurity Risk & Operations Management, you will play a pivotal role in this transformation. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about cybersecurity and eager to contribute to the enhancement of Toyota's Third-Party Cybersecurity Risk Management (TPCRM) program. You will collaborate with various internal business groups and external partners to assess and improve cybersecurity processes, ensuring that Toyota maintains a robust security posture in an increasingly complex digital landscape. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering and maintaining an accurate inventory of Toyota's third-party relationships, tracking the status of Inherent Risk Assessments (IRA) and Cyber Risk Assessments (CRA), and developing visual reports to communicate these metrics effectively. You will also initiate IRAs with internal teams, recommend process improvements, and support the coordination of cybersecurity awareness meetings and best practices sessions. Your work will directly contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the TPCRM program, helping Toyota to secure its expansive ecosystem of connected vehicles and services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences. You will be expected to work collaboratively across various departments, demonstrating your ability to build trust and foster teamwork. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal Toyota groups to gather a holistic Third-Party Universe for Toyota Motor North America.
  • Track TPCRM Inherent Risk Assessment (IRA) and Cyber Risk Assessment (CRA) status and final ratings, flagging overdue items appropriately.
  • Develop and maintain a visual and repeatable Monthly Tracking Report on IRAs and CRAs completion rate, escalation status, and Third-Party Universe.
  • Kick off IRAs with internal business functions and IT.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements related to daily work to improve efficiency and results for the TPCRM team.
  • Support TPCRM Team with coordinating TPCRM and Cybersecurity Awareness meetings, and Best Practices info-sharing sessions with internal business functions, Dealers, and Suppliers.
  • Perform CRAs with low-risk Suppliers and shadow other assessors to learn the cybersecurity technical requirements and security controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, other engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in IT and/or Cybersecurity.
  • Experience in strategy, consulting, engineering, or other relevant discipline.
  • Experience working in an environment requiring strong interpersonal skills - collaboration, building trust, team player.
  • Experience using problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience using communication skills (verbal and written) to tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Experience leading or being an active participant in cross-functional projects or activities.
  • Experience working in an environment requiring management of a wide variety of initiatives across multiple business units.
