About the position

The Senior Engineer - Electrical position at SOCOTEC involves leading project teams in the forensic investigation of equipment failures and the design and analysis of electrical systems in power plants and buildings. The role requires strong technical capabilities, mentoring of team members, and effective client interaction to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget. The engineer will also be responsible for writing technical reports and conducting instrumentation and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead project team(s) and execute projects on time, within budget, and with a high degree of quality.
• Interface with clients to meet project goals and deadlines.
• Mentor team members in the execution of their duties.
• Conduct forensic investigation of equipment failures.
• Design and analyze equipment and systems in power plants and buildings.
• Design instrument test loops to evaluate component failure causes.
• Perform instrumentation, data acquisition, and analysis of equipment and structures.
• Evaluate materials and composition of electrical components and systems for application suitability.
• Write technical reports without supervision.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• Minimum bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• 8+ years' experience in electrical engineering.
• Possess EIT certification; licensed professional engineer preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with efficient use of Microsoft products.
• Ability to pass background and drug screenings to obtain security clearances at a commercial nuclear plant.

• Ability to travel to customer or project sites, which may include weekends.
