About the position

The Senior Engineer, External Manufacturing & Supplier Quality at Johnson & Johnson Vision plays a crucial role in ensuring quality and compliance in external manufacturing processes. This position involves strategic and tactical support to maintain and improve customer satisfaction through effective quality management systems and supplier partnerships. The engineer will lead investigations, manage supplier risks, and implement continuous improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide sound, risk-based QA direction and independent decision-making on quality and compliance issues.
• Work with suppliers and internal resources to perform root cause analysis and failure investigations.
• Identify and approve supplier corrective actions, monitoring their implementation and effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems, including selection, change control, qualification, and performance monitoring.
• Lead supplier risk identification and management activities, including planning and execution of risk assessments.
• Create and own Quality Agreements with suppliers.
• Exercise strong communication and interpersonal skills to support supplier relationships.
• Perform tasks in accordance with safety policies, quality systems, and cGMP requirements.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related scientific field.
• At least four years of relevant work experience in quality assurance or related areas.
• Experience leading investigations, non-conformances (NCs), and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Strong critical thinking skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
