About the position

The Senior Engineer, External Manufacturing & Supplier Quality at Johnson & Johnson Vision plays a crucial role in ensuring quality and compliance in external manufacturing processes. This position involves strategic and tactical support to maintain and improve customer satisfaction through effective quality management practices. The engineer will collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to mitigate supply chain risks and implement continuous improvements, ultimately contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide sound, risk-based QA direction and independent decision-making on quality and compliance issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and failure investigations with suppliers and internal resources.
• Identify and approve supplier corrective actions and monitor their implementation and effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems, including selection, change control, qualification, and performance monitoring.
• Lead supplier risk identification and management activities, including planning and execution of risk assessments.
• Create and own Quality Agreements with suppliers.
• Communicate effectively to support supplier relationships and collection sites.
• Perform tasks in accordance with safety policies and quality systems under limited supervision.
• Adapt to other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related scientific field.
• At least four years of relevant work experience in quality assurance or related areas.
• Experience leading investigations, non-conformances (NCs), and corrective actions (CAPAs).
• Strong critical thinking skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
