About the position

The Senior Engineer, External Manufacturing & Supplier Quality at Johnson & Johnson Vision is responsible for providing strategic and tactical support to External Manufacturing by executing quality activities. This role focuses on maintaining and improving customer satisfaction through nonconformance root cause investigations and building partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. The position requires a strong emphasis on quality management systems and supplier risk management, ensuring compliance and effective communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide sound, risk-based QA direction and independent decision-making on quality and compliance issues.
• Work with suppliers and internal resources to perform root cause analysis and identify corrective actions.
• Monitor supplier implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems, including selection, change control, and performance monitoring.
• Lead supplier risk identification and management activities, including planning and execution of assessments.
• Create and own Quality Agreements with suppliers.
• Exercise strong communication and interpersonal skills to support supplier relationships.
• Perform tasks in accordance with safety policies and quality systems under limited supervision.
• Adapt to other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related scientific field.
• A minimum of four years of relevant work experience.
• Experience leading investigations, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
• Strong critical thinking skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
