About the position

The Senior Mechanical Engineer position at LiRo-Hill involves leading the design and implementation of mechanical systems for various facilities, including commercial, industrial, and healthcare environments. The role emphasizes collaboration and aims to enhance the company's capabilities through the expertise of its staff. The engineer will be responsible for field surveys, system designs, and the preparation of construction documents, while also ensuring compliance with New York Building Codes.

Responsibilities

• Field survey of existing mechanical, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
• Design of HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and healthcare facilities.
• Design of Plumbing and Fire Protection systems (a plus).
• Preparation of construction documents including drawings, specifications, calculations, and details.
• Approval of mechanical submittals and aid in RFI responses during construction administration.
• Use engineering and design computer software to complete assigned work (i.e. Autodesk Revit MEP & AutoCAD).

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineering license required.
• Intimate knowledge of New York Building Codes.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and work well under pressure on multiple projects.
• Strong communication skills and project-level leadership skills with clients and team.
• Experience in engineering and design computer software including AutoCAD and Revit.
