As KBS Senior Engineer (Power, Dynamics, Propulsion), you will provide critical support in protecting our country. You will work with a team of driven, supportive, and highly skilled professionals supporting KBS and the NSWCCD Program office. A week in the life of a Senior Engineer (Power, Dynamics, Propulsion) will involve providing Senior Engineering expertise and leadership in the acquisition of engineering and technical Knowledge Based Services (KBS) in support of NSWCCD Code 80, other NSWCCD Codes, and NSWCCD sponsors. Your mission will include research, design and development, test and evaluation, and ongoing operational assessment of model-scale and full-scale surface ships, submarines, small craft, and specialized platforms including sea-based aviation and off-board systems such as amphibious vehicles, autonomous and unmanned vehicles, off-board vehicles, stationary or submersible rigs, tethered systems, and towed or moored sensor systems. You will also provide Senior Engineering support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division's (NSWCCD) Naval Architecture and Engineering Department (Code 80) in all areas of the PWS including research, engineering, and naval architecture on surface ships, submarines, small craft, and specialized platforms. Your Senior Engineering duties will encompass project management, maintaining the Electronic Document Library (eDL), conducting meetings and In-Progress Reviews (IPR), and providing programmatic support. You will also engage in research and development (R&D) support, hydrodynamics and aerodynamics engineering support, design and development, systems engineering support, and support of on-site test and fabrication facilities. Additionally, you will be involved in modeling and simulation (M&S) support, design documentation and technical data support, T&E support, and managing CDRL deliverables.
