About the position

As a Senior Engineer in Site Reliability Engineering at LSEG, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of critical shared services. This position emphasizes a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration, where you will work closely with development teams and participate in incident response and postmortems. Your contributions will help shape the future of the Reliability Engineering team, moving beyond traditional support and operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Service Level Objectives for the systems owned by the team.
• Measure and improve availability, latency, and overall system health.
• Write automation to scale systems sustainably and recover services quickly when issues occur.
• Partner with development teams to enhance system reliability, observability, and release velocity.
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, postmortems, and root cause analysis and resolution.
• Advocate for strong engineering practices to build, deploy, and run scalable, reliable, and performant services.
• Work with foundation and migration teams on cloud migration projects, performing architectural reviews and operational testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Object Oriented programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or Go.
• Experience with Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.

Nice-to-haves

• 8-10 years of industry experience.
• Familiarity with DevOps concepts and practices.
• Experience with algorithms and data structures.
• Knowledge of observability practices including logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
• Understanding of identity and access management and application security.
