About the position

As a Senior Engineer in Solutions Engineering at RXO, you will play a pivotal role in the implementation and execution of the OTM (Oracle Transportation Management) tool for both new and converting clients. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the OTM tool is effectively integrated into client operations, driving continuous improvement and providing ongoing support to existing clients. This position is essential in helping RXO maintain its reputation as a leading provider of transportation solutions, leveraging cutting-edge technology to revolutionize the industry. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading the review and analysis of business requirements, designing solutions tailored to meet the needs of new or existing customers, and updating functional design specifications to align with project requirements. You will also be tasked with configuring, testing, and documenting the logistics solutions based on OTM, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. In addition to technical responsibilities, you will identify and implement value-added improvements to existing operational systems, utilizing your analytical skills and innovative mindset. Training and deploying new clients, while providing continuous support to existing ones, will be a key aspect of your role. Collaboration is crucial, as you will work closely with internal and external customers, business development teams, and IT departments to apply Lean principles in developing solutions for complex assignments. Effective communication will be vital in this role, as you will need to convey business needs to technical teams and simplify complex technical information for non-technical stakeholders. Building and improving strategic relationships with client senior management will also be a significant part of your responsibilities, ensuring that RXO continues to meet and exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the review and analysis of business requirements and the design of solutions for new or existing customers.
  • Update and edit functional design specifications and solutions to satisfy project requirements.
  • Configure, test, and document the OTM based logistics solution.
  • Identify and implement value-added improvements to existing operational systems by employing analysis, innovation, and experience.
  • Train and deploy new and converting clients while providing continuous support to existing clients.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers, business development and IT teams to employ Lean principles to develop solutions and standards for complex and critical assignments.
  • Communicate business needs to technical people and communicate/simplify complex technical information for non-technical people.
  • Build and improve strategic relationships with client senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Supply Chain, Operations or Management Information Systems, or equivalent related work or military experience.
  • 2 years of cross-functional business experience, including business analysis, transportation, logistics and/or supply chain solutions.
  • 1 year OTM experience.

  • 5 years of cross-functional business experience, including business analysis, transportation, logistics and/or supply chain solutions.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Capacity to learn and understand a full suite of technical solutions and make recommendations to internal and external customers based on business needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience leading a team of professionals.
  • Lean knowledge, including value stream mapping and Kaizen execution planning/management.
