In the role of a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be at the forefront of researching, designing, developing, optimizing, and validating systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and machine learning solutions. This position specifically focuses on the AI/ML field, where you will collaborate across functional teams to meet and exceed system-level requirements and standards. You will be responsible for developing AI/ML solutions that integrate AI hardware products, technologies, software, and ecosystems to provide best-in-class AI inference performance, power efficiency, and scalability. Your role will involve applying your systems knowledge and experience to research, design, develop, simulate, and validate systems-level software, AI hardware, architecture, deep learning algorithms, and machine learning solutions while ensuring that system-level requirements and standards are met. You will also support customer engagement with AI model/workload optimization and deployment, perform ML model benchmarking and functional analysis, and drive requirements and specifications. In addition, you will build ML systems/solutions, analyze system-level design including requirements, interface definition, functional/performance definition, and implementation of new systems or modifications of existing systems. Collaboration with your team and other teams will be essential to complete project work, including implementing and testing features and verifying the accuracy of systems. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in the AI/ML space will be crucial as you drive innovative solutions and develop new ideas for product or feature areas. You will also be responsible for triaging problems at the system level to determine root causes and presenting results of testing and debugging to team members.

Responsibilities

  • Develop AI/ML solutions that integrate AI hardware products, technologies, software, and ecosystems to provide best-in-class AI inference performance, power efficiency, and scalability.
  • Apply systems knowledge and experience to research, design, develop, simulate, and validate systems-level software, AI hardware, architecture, deep learning algorithms, and machine learning solutions while ensuring system-level requirements and standards are met.
  • Support customer engagement with AI model/workload optimization and deployment.
  • Perform ML model benchmarking and functional analysis to drive requirements and specifications.
  • Build ML systems/solutions and analyze system-level design including requirements, interface definition, functional/performance definition, and implementation of new systems or modifications of existing systems.
  • Collaborate with own team and other teams to complete project work, including implementing and testing features and verifying the accuracy of systems.
  • Keep abreast with the latest advancements in the AI/ML space and drive innovative solutions.
  • Develop new and innovative ideas for a product or feature area.
  • Drive triage of problems at the system level to determine root cause and present results of testing and debugging to team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience, OR a Master's degree in the same fields with 1+ year of experience, OR a PhD in the same fields.
  • 2+ years of experience with Python and C/C++.
  • 2+ years of experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other ML frameworks.
  • 2+ years of experience in ML development, deployment, and applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or PhD Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Physics, or related field.
  • 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with Machine Learning systems based on CV, NLP, and LLM architectures.
  • Experience with MLOps, especially for GenAI applications.
  • Problem solution experience and customer focus.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
  • 1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Sr. Staff level and above).
