About the position

The Senior Engineering Manager 1 at GAI Consultants Inc. is responsible for leading and managing civil engineering projects within the Power Business Unit's Civil and Environmental Business Sector. This role involves developing client relationships, overseeing project management, and providing civil engineering expertise across various multi-discipline design and construction projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, technical skills, and the ability to integrate complex engineering solutions while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil engineering projects within the Power Business Unit.
• Develop and maintain client relationships in Energy, Institutional, Industrial, and Manufacturing sectors.
• Oversee technical, legal, and financial aspects of projects.
• Integrate advanced concepts, including sustainability, into engineering solutions.
• Supervise project teams and implement staff development plans.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of leaders and teams within the practice segment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required).
• 16 years of civil engineering experience (required).
• 10 years of experience managing civil engineering project teams (required).
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (required).
• Driver's License (required).
• Existing client relationships in relevant sectors (required).
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills (required).

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Engineering (preferred).
• Professional licensure in multiple states or NCEES registration (preferred).
