About the position

The Senior Engineering Manager, AI will lead the development of core AI/ML capabilities for Splunk's product portfolio, focusing on enhancing customer experiences and driving digital resiliency. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior members, and shaping the scientific roadmap for AI initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop a long-term strategy and roadmap for integrating AI/ML technology across the product portfolio.
• Lead the development of core AI/ML models and algorithms for key use cases in cybersecurity and observability.
• Partner with Product Leads to create a strategic product vision and flexible science/engineering plan.
• Stay updated with the latest AI/ML research and incorporate advancements into the technology roadmap.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Establish structures to hold the team accountable for progress and meeting business objectives.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge and proven track record in AI/ML technology, including deep learning, time series modeling, natural language processing, and unsupervised learning.
• In-depth knowledge and proven track record in Generative AI technology and Large Language Models (LLM).
• Experience leading and managing machine learning teams of applied scientists and engineers.
• Experience developing large-scale, complex models and deploying them in production systems.
• Experience setting and executing innovation strategies at technical and organizational levels to drive business objectives.
• Familiarity with architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications.
• Experience in the Cybersecurity and/or Observability industry is preferred.
• Experience leading and executing complex AI products within cross-functional teams.
