About the position

As a Senior Manager of Apple Data Governance, you will be responsible for defining and implementing strategies to ensure the integrity, privacy, and security of Apple's diverse data assets. This role involves managing a team that establishes and maintains robust data governance frameworks, policies, and standards across the organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute Apple's data governance strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Provide visionary leadership and guide software engineers in developing comprehensive governance solutions.
• Partner with User Privacy, Legal, and Compliance teams to formulate and advance data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure compliance with global data protection regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
• Establish frameworks for data quality assessment and metadata management.
• Partner with business units to embed data governance principles into operational processes and systems.
• Lead and mentor a team of senior software engineers and managers.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related fields in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry best practices.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing data governance frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder leadership skills.
