About the position

As a Senior Manager of Apple Data Governance, you will be responsible for defining and implementing strategies to ensure the integrity, privacy, and security of Apple's diverse data assets. This role involves managing a team that establishes and maintains robust data governance frameworks, policies, and standards across the organization, while collaborating with various teams to drive data governance initiatives forward.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute Apple's data governance strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide visionary leadership and guide software engineers in developing comprehensive governance solutions.
  • Partner with User Privacy, Legal, and Compliance teams to formulate and advance data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Ensure data governance frameworks uphold data quality, accessibility, and security throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure compliance with global data protection regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Develop solutions to mitigate data governance risks across Apple.
  • Establish frameworks for data quality assessment and metadata management.
  • Build initiatives to improve data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
  • Partner with business units and teams to embed data governance principles into operational processes and systems.
  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination on data governance initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of senior software engineers and managers.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related fields in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry best practices.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing data governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder leadership skills.
