About the position

The Engineering Leader for the Apple Services Engineering Architecture and Platforms team will spearhead the execution and delivery of an event-driven processing and observability platform. This role is crucial for various media teams within Digital Supply Chain and Apple Services Engineering, focusing on collaboration, design discussions, and mentoring senior software developers. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day development, set technology vision, and drive solutions from product definition to release while fostering an inclusive culture at Apple.

Responsibilities

• Champion and lead the execution and delivery of event-driven processing and observability platform.
• Participate in setting the technology vision for the team.
• Manage day-to-day development and execution of projects.
• Drive solutions from product definition to release.
• Mentor and support the growth of senior software developers.
• Ensure the team builds high-quality and reliable platform and observability services.
• Manage a portfolio of complex technical projects across multiple collaborators.

Requirements

• 5+ years of meaningful management experience in software engineering, ideally for building platforms for stream and data processing.
• In-depth experience in stream and data processing; database systems, including relational and key-value at large scale.
• Strong understanding of API design, service-oriented architecture, and large-scale distributed systems.
• Consistent track record of delivering complex technical projects on-time and within budget.
• Experience in ensuring high quality and reliability of platform and observability services.
• Proven abilities to develop capabilities and leadership skills of team leads and engineers.

Nice-to-haves

• 2+ years of management experience in managing managers in data platform teams.
• Proven track record of developing self-service platforms for data-mesh-based architecture.
• Experience in building production quality, fault-tolerant systems using modern scalable architectures.
