About the position
The Senior Engineering Manager - Digital Acquisitions at American Express is responsible for leading an agile cross-functional team focused on delivering high-quality web applications using JavaScript, NodeJS, and ReactJS. This role emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and automation, aiming to enhance user experiences for American Express products. The position involves managing technical objectives, aligning with product owners, and continuously improving development processes while supporting team members' growth and performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of web engineers to deliver world-class web applications using ReactJS and NodeJS on the cloud.
- Educate and learn from other mobile and web engineering teams.
- Align with group-wide product owners to define requirements for new features and build product roadmaps.
- Manage Tech OKRs and strive for continuous improvement in metrics month over month.
- Research relevant technologies and form a point of view on technologies and architectural approaches.
- Collaborate with architects, tech leads, and team members to socialize changes and system designs.
- Provide support to operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Identify and solve inefficiencies in the development process.
- Conduct regular meetings with team members to provide feedback on performance and coaching.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of JavaScript, NodeJS, and ReactJS.
- Experience in leading agile cross-functional teams.
- Ability to deliver scalable, performant, and fault-tolerant applications.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
