About the position

The Senior Engineering Manager for Application and Product Security at CLEAR is a strategic leadership role focused on ensuring the security of the company's software applications and products. This position involves leading a team of security engineers, developing secure design practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to mitigate security risks and protect customer data. The role requires a deep understanding of security requirements and industry best practices, as well as the ability to stay current with emerging security threats and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop, and grow security engineering talent by providing career growth support, effective feedback, and performance reviews.
• Lead the Secure Design and Implementation function, ensuring that CLEAR's products are designed and implemented with security in mind.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of CLEAR's security requirements and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, and Operations, to ensure secure design and implementation of products.
• Manage a team of security engineers responsible for securing CLEAR's products.
• Develop and maintain secure software development lifecycle processes and procedures.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve CLEAR's security posture.

Requirements

• Practical knowledge of all aspects of software engineering, including coding, maintenance, architecture, and design, and how security is injected.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with cloud native applications and containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g. Java, Python, React).
• Experience leading teams in secure software development, including design, architecture, and implementation.
• Experience managing multiple security teams, including security engineers and security architects.
• Familiarity with modern security technologies and practices, including threat modeling, vulnerability management, and secure coding.
