About the position

The position involves leading and managing engineering projects in a manufacturing environment, focusing on automation and robotics. The role requires overseeing projects from conception through implementation, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing budgets and resources effectively. The candidate will also be responsible for coordinating with stakeholders and maintaining project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Identification of project opportunities and leading projects from concept to implementation.
• Ownership of projects including engineering specifications, test documents, and purchase agreements.
• Development of project budgets and tracking of spending.
• Independent decision-making and exercising judgment in project execution.
• Leading various stages of projects such as requirements definition, design reviews, and commissioning.
• Supporting businesses with Proof of Concepts and use-cases.
• Authoring and reviewing standard operating procedures and controlled documents.
• Coordinating meetings with stakeholders and maintaining project calendars.

Requirements

• 4 year Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5-7 years as an engineer in an industrial environment.
• At least 5 years of experience implementing automation projects in an industrial setting.
• Completion of various automation/robotics projects in an industrial setting.
• Demonstrated project management and leadership roles with complete project ownership.
• Experience managing internal maintenance staff and external contractors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).

Nice-to-haves

• Industry knowledge including vendor contacts and common methods.
• Ability to develop presentations for top management and public groups.
• Experience with statistical and mathematical concepts for problem analysis.
