About the position

ePlus is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Enterprise Solutions Architect to join our team. This hybrid remote opportunity is available for candidates located within a commutable distance from ePlus' mid-town NYC office, with a requirement to work on-site two to three days per week. The ideal candidate will have a strong consultative mindset and come from a mid-market or enterprise customer environment. This role presents a unique opportunity to provide presales solution engineering and architecture thought leadership, playing a key role in driving product and services sales through technical solutions selling for ePlus. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will act as a technical business partner with an ePlus Senior Account Executive, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor for the customer. In this position, you will provide technical expertise and consultative support to the assigned sales team and ePlus customers. You will establish credibility and trusted advisor status by understanding customer business needs and making technical recommendations that align with their interests. Your responsibilities will include assisting the sales team with overall account planning, developing and finalizing solution architecture/design, and creating detailed line-item configurations or bill-of-materials (BOMs). You will also be responsible for developing and presenting solution proposals, demonstrating architectural vision, and leading technical scoping/reviews with the sales team and customers for Statement of Work (SOW) generation. Additionally, you will provide detailed network diagrams, power specifications, and assist with customer satisfaction issues surrounding the deployment of recommended solutions. Your role will also involve supporting post-sales activities, completing training per your development plan, and maintaining certifications in accordance with your focus area. You will review the current pipeline and forecast potential revenue, win probability, and estimated completion dates on a weekly basis, while participating in ePlus events and team meetings specific to your region and practices. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and consultative support to assigned sales team and ePlus customers
  • Establish credibility and trusted advisor status with ePlus' customers by understanding their business needs and making technical recommendations
  • Assist sales team with overall account planning
  • Develop and finalize solution architecture/design and detailed line-item configurations and/or bill-of-materials (BOMs)
  • Develop and finalize solution proposal and/or presentation of recommended solutions
  • Skillfully demonstrate architectural vision to various levels within an organization
  • Develop and communicate relevant business outcomes via written proposals, presentations, briefings, and demonstrations
  • Lead technical scoping/reviews with sales team and customers for Statement of Work (SOW) generation
  • Provide detailed network diagrams, power specs, cable needs, as-built, and rack elevations as needed
  • Assist sales team with customer satisfaction issues surrounding deployment of a recommended solution
  • Support post-sales activities needing your involvement, such as internal/external kickoff meetings, lessons learned, etc.
  • Complete training, per development plan, and maintain certifications in accordance with focus area
  • Review current pipeline and forecast potential revenue, win probability, and estimated date of completion on a weekly basis
  • Participate in ePlus events/activities with customers, vendors and other partners
  • Participate in team meetings specific to region and practices
  • Work with regional and area teams on developing standardized process for repeatability

Requirements

  • 4+ years previous experience as a presales solution architect/engineer or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of experience in network engineering AND data center engineering, architecture, and design
  • 10+ years of industry experience in client-side senior roles, technology integrators, or manufacturers
  • Expert level industry certifications (e.g. CCIE, CCDE, JNCIE, PNCSE, RHCE, MCSE, PNCSE, CISSP etc.)
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the need to complete
  • Ability to educate customers and team members on the value proposition and business outcomes of designed solutions
  • Expert level knowledge and ability to consult, design and present solutions with confidence in at least two of the practice areas: Networking, Infrastructure and SASE Architecture, Public and Private Cloud Architecture, Cloud Networking and Security, Premise and Cloud based Collaboration platforms, Storage/Compute/Virtualization
  • Demonstrate expert industry knowledge of Enterprise Network Platforms, Services and Architecture including Traditional Cisco premise network (R/S, Wireless and Security) architecture and design, Next-Gen Mobility infrastructure applications and services, Network Segmentation, Automation and Software Defined Networking, Secure Access Service Edge service models (SASE), Identity Services, Authentication and Compliance technologies, Enterprise Agreements and Licensing
