About the position

The Senior Environmental Project Manager will lead the siting, permitting, and licensing of critical energy infrastructure projects, focusing on renewable energy and energy transformation initiatives. This role is essential in guiding clients through environmental planning and compliance, ensuring that projects minimize environmental impacts while supporting energy transformation for safer infrastructure and healthier communities. The position involves managing project development, client communication, and delivering quality client deliverables, all while navigating the complexities of the evolving Power and Energy industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental permitting and related efforts to support project development.
  • Develop and implement permit strategies to avoid and minimize environmental impacts.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications in compliance with city, county, and state requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders regarding project objectives and progress.
  • Create technical memos and environmental compliance documents.
  • Motivate and direct project teams to achieve internal financial goals and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with project delivery and technical leaders to facilitate project priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in natural resources, environmental science, environmental planning, or a related technical degree.
  • 10 years of experience in the industry, with 5 to 7 years in project management or task leadership roles.
  • Experience with resource planning and environmental permitting in the Western United States, particularly Oregon and Washington.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations, including EFSC, EFSEC, BLM, BPA, and USACE requirements.
  • Ability to lead project teams with a focus on safety and client service.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills for developing quality client deliverables.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in natural resources, environmental science, environmental planning, or a related technical degree.
  • Experience managing energy or power infrastructure projects in the environmental consulting industry.
  • Experience working with tribal-owned land and Native American groups.
  • Familiarity with environmental projects in other western states such as Montana, Idaho, California, Arizona, Colorado, and Nevada.
