About the position

The Senior Epic/Citrix Cloud and Automation Engineer position is a pivotal role within the Enterprise Information Services team, focusing on the transformation of healthcare through innovative technology solutions. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about driving the adoption of new standards and services, particularly in the context of modernizing and securing healthcare applications and services. The position is remote within the USA, allowing for flexibility while contributing to a significant mission: providing healthcare for a better world. As part of the Service Integration Engineering team, the Senior Engineer will lead the development and standardization of platforms, technologies, and services that support the Epic Electronic Medical Record Infrastructure and Citrix Virtual Application and Desktop delivery teams. This includes deployments across both on-premise environments and a growing Azure cloud ecosystem. The solutions developed are essential for the delivery of various Clinical and Revenue Cycle applications, with a focus on adopting Cloud services (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), testing new platform standards, internal tool development, Automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The role requires collaboration with subject matter experts from various teams, including Security, Networking, Cloud Engineering, Applications, and Business Intelligence, to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and to drive development forward. In this role, the Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for solution design, conducting architectural reviews, implementing proof-of-concepts, standardizing solutions, and developing operational handoffs. Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and standardization of new platforms, technologies, and services for Epic EMR and Citrix delivery teams.
  • Design and implement solutions for both on-premise and Azure cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align solutions with enterprise standards.
  • Conduct architectural reviews and implement proof-of-concepts for new technologies.
  • Standardize solutions and develop operational handoffs for deployment.
  • Drive the adoption of Cloud services and Infrastructure as Code practices across teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent education/experience.
  • 5 years of related experience; 5-8 years preferred.
  • Experience leveraging data and metrics to drive behavior and process decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills using systematic procedures and root cause analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a Healthcare environment.
  • Experience designing and deploying solutions in public cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Desired State Configuration Tools like Hashicorp Terraform and Ansible.
  • Familiarity with enterprise network infrastructure devices such as firewalls and load-balancers.
  • Experience with Epic EMR architecture or Citrix/VMware/Microsoft Desktop and Application Virtualization technologies.
