About the position

As a Senior Estimator focused primarily on Building Automation Systems at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in our Pre-bid process. This position involves managing the estimation process through collaboration with various stakeholders to understand deliverables and develop competitive project bids. The Senior Estimator ensures that the bid team has the necessary inputs to produce high-quality work that aligns with the organization's objectives and standards. This role is designed for an experienced and results-driven Estimator looking for the next step in their career. In the role of Senior Estimator, you will impact the success of our projects by accurately estimating the costs and ensuring competitive bids. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements, review and analyze project plans, and provide guidance and support to project managers and other stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to be part of a high-performing team and be a major contributor to our success.

Responsibilities

  • Input study, RFI generation, HVAC equipment take-off, IO summary preparation, DDC controller and field device selection, BOQ preparation, costing, valve selection, conduit/cable schedule.
  • Studying specifications for inclusions/exclusions, technical qualifications/assumptions, and cost details (taxes, 3rd party commission).
  • Capture all deviations, compliance details, and technical qualifications.
  • RFQ generation for subcontractor bids, ensuring comprehensive deliverables for effective proposals.
  • Create Statements of Work with inclusion/exclusion details, ensuring compliance to specifications and customer preferences.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in estimating, preferably in a leadership role
  • Experience with Electrical contractor or BAS provider in similar capacity
  • Exposure to Building Automation (Management) Systems
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry practices and standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficient in using estimating software and tools

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Master's degree or professional certification
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders from different geographic regions in multiple time zones
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to drive results and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Continuous learning mindset
  • French language skills a plus
