About the position
The Senior Estimator / Project Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth and profitability in heavy civil construction projects, particularly in Earthwork, Underground Utilities, Demolition, and Paving. This role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in estimating, securing, and managing projects, focusing on both public and private sectors. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to generate sales and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality results and strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review project estimates, budgets, and schedules for Earthwork, Underground Utilities, Demolition, or Paving projects.
- Develop compelling proposals, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships with key clients to secure repeat business.
- Lead project planning, execution, and close-out phases, ensuring projects meet client expectations and company standards.
- Manage project teams, resources, and subcontractors to maintain project timelines and profitability.
- Monitor project financials, proactively addressing potential issues to keep projects within budget.
- Foster a positive work environment and ensure adherence to safety standards on all projects.
Requirements
- 10+ years in construction estimating and project management, specifically within Earthwork, Underground Utilities, Demolition, or Paving.
- Demonstrated success in winning bids and managing profitable projects, whether in public works or private sector.
- Strong ability to generate sales, with a network of loyal clients or a record of securing public contracts.
- Proficiency in estimating software and project management tools.
