About The Position
The Senior Estimator for Underground Utilities (Civil/Commercial) position is a critical role within a highly reputable company that specializes in Civil Infrastructure and Underground Utilities. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for managing and developing cost estimates for various projects, particularly those that are considered 'at risk'. This involves a comprehensive understanding of project logistics, schedules, and risks associated with each project. The role requires active participation in pre-construction duties and meetings with clients, owners, and engineers to ensure that all aspects of the project are thoroughly understood and accounted for. In addition to estimating costs, the Senior Estimator will maintain a historical database of costs to inform future estimates and project planning. This position demands a collaborative approach, as the estimator will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that all estimates are accurate and reflective of the project's needs. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in estimating Civil Infrastructure and Underground Utilities projects, with a strong grasp of estimating principles and the ability to review conceptual estimates effectively. Advanced computer skills, particularly with estimating software such as Heavy Bid and excavating software, are essential for success in this role. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask are also crucial, as the estimator will be managing multiple projects simultaneously.
