About the position

The Senior ETL Developer will play a crucial role in the Data Services Team, focusing on ETL design, data modeling, and development. This position requires technical leadership and collaboration with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective data solutions. The developer will also be responsible for ensuring best practices in development, conducting design and code reviews, and analyzing existing systems to improve processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead ETL design, data modeling, and development efforts.
  • Facilitate best practice guidelines throughout all stages of development.
  • Provide technical leadership and serve as a point of escalation for key issues and significant projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into effective data solutions.
  • Gain approval for designs and effort estimates from team and stakeholders.
  • Research and analyze current systems to understand process flows.
  • Document work through Functional and Technical Specifications.
  • Develop unit tests and performance tests, considering security requirements.
  • Prepare and participate in design and code reviews.
  • Analyze processes for gaps and weaknesses and create future state models and migration plans.
  • Communicate progress using Agile Methodology.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with Oracle.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, including building relational databases and star schemas.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Modeling.
  • 4+ years of experience with ODI (Oracle Data Integrator Tool) or Informatica IDMC.
  • 3+ years of experience with Databricks Lakehouse and/or Delta tables.
  • 2+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting a Kimball method data warehouse on SQL Server or Oracle.
  • Strong SQL reading and writing skills.
  • Business and/or technical background in Data Integration (ETL), Data Security, and Enterprise Data Warehouse development.
  • Experience in Change Management, Release Management, and Source Code control practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, systems analysis, or a related area.
