The Senior ETL Developer position within the Center for Research Informatics (CRI) at the University of Chicago is a critical role that involves working independently to perform a variety of activities related to software support and development. The CRI is dedicated to providing informatics resources and services to faculty in the Biological Sciences Division, focusing on enhancing clinical and translational research through innovative solutions. The successful candidate will analyze, design, develop, debug, and modify computer code for end-user applications, ensuring that the applications meet the needs of biomedical researchers. This role requires a deep understanding of business requirements and the ability to translate these into effective data structures and analytics capabilities. In this position, the Senior ETL Developer will gather and analyze healthcare and related data to identify trends that support data requests and proposed projects. The developer will be responsible for designing, constructing, testing, and maintaining the data warehouse, including the extraction and transformation of data using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Additionally, the role involves developing and testing business intelligence outputs, utilizing tools such as R, Tableau, and Excel to provide insightful information that supports research and quality improvement initiatives. The Senior ETL Developer will also manage various information systems and data files, ensuring timely and accurate completion of datasets. Collaboration with a cross-functional team of Data Scientists, Project Managers, and Developers is essential to ensure high-quality data delivery.
