About the position

The Senior ETL Developer will be responsible for designing and implementing ETL processes using the Talend ETL toolset. This role involves extracting and transforming data from various sources, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with team members to maintain data integrity. The position requires a strong background in ETL development, particularly within health data organizations, and proficiency in working with large datasets and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Use the Talend ETL toolset to create new ETL jobs.
  • Design and implement ETL for extracting and transforming data from diverse sources, such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server databases.
  • Design and develop database tables necessary along with the necessary constraints as per the requirement.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand source system structures and data retrieval methods/techniques, and tools within the organization.
  • Support the development of data transformation logic using ETL tools or scripting languages like SQL, Bash, Python, etc.
  • Clean, validate, and transform data to conform to target schema and quality standards.
  • Work with the team to execute data quality improvement plans.
  • Participate in troubleshooting activities to maintain data integrity and process efficiency.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience using Talend Data Fabric in a professional environment.
  • Five years of experience working for a health data organization performing ETL Development activities.
  • Three years of experience with database, data warehouse, ETL, business intelligence, or software development.
  • Demonstrable knowledge with the Talend Data Fabric tool, ESB, and MDM development tasks and processes.
  • Experience in developing projects using Talend with Data Integration and Cloud Integration working with large datasets.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and Microsoft DevOps Git Repos.
  • Experience with Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server database technologies.
  • Able to create/modify tables, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and other DB objects.
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of HIPAA policies and working with PII and PHI sensitive data.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written, along with excellent documentation skills.
