About the position

The Senior Event Manager - Convention Logistics is responsible for managing and coordinating Convention Services activities to ensure the smooth execution of conventions, functions, and events. This role involves direct support to the Assistant Director of Convention Services, overseeing operations, enhancing client satisfaction, and leading a team to deliver exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate Convention Services activities for complex convention and event groups.
  • Communicate group specifications to operational departments and ensure implementation.
  • Partner with senior leadership to implement process improvements for client satisfaction.
  • Accurately forecast group revenues according to guidelines.
  • Promote the proper use of function space and maximize group revenue.
  • Assist with training and development initiatives for Convention Services staff.
  • Oversee contracted group room blocks, including cutoffs and attrition.
  • Plan and develop convention programs and services according to client requirements.
  • Create external communications for assigned convention groups.
  • Host planning meetings and site inspections to ensure smooth execution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 6 years of experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related area.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with 3 years of experience in event management or related area.
