About the position

The Senior Event Manager at Oak View Group is responsible for overseeing all aspects of event management within the facility, from planning through execution. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing event staff, and ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the logistics of events at Enmarket Arena and Johnny Mercer Theatre.
  • Coordinate with the VP of Events and Operations to plan and execute events.
  • Communicate event requirements to building staff in a timely manner.
  • Prepare event estimates based on annual budget guidelines.
  • Select, train, motivate, and evaluate Front of House and Back of House staff.
  • Coordinate event seating layouts with the ticket office.
  • Work with tour production managers to coordinate show requirements.
  • Prepare data sheets for building personnel prior to events.
  • Present event previews/reviews in weekly staff meetings.
  • Develop and control event budgets, including pre-show estimates and post-show settlements.
  • Deliver event information to the finance department for invoicing.
  • Troubleshoot event setups and make decisions regarding policies and staffing.
  • Oversee production, setup, and event-related contract services.
  • Schedule event staff, security, and emergency services through third parties.
  • Facilitate event load-ins and load-outs, often early or late.
  • Communicate effectively with the VP of Events and Operations.
  • Prepare event reports noting attendance and significant issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/Technical degree from an accredited institution required.
  • 4-6 years of experience in facility events and operations management.
  • Experience in a supervisory or management position in the public assembly industry.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of budget preparation and control.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD preferred.
  • Understanding of crowd management, fire safety regulations, and food service practices.
  • Production experience with concert setups, audio, video, lighting, and rigging preferred.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to make management decisions in a fast-paced environment.
