About the position

The Senior Event Manager at Hilton Denver City Center is responsible for leading the planning and execution of various events, ensuring exceptional service and memorable experiences for guests. This role involves coordinating with sales, hotel departments, and clients throughout all phases of events, primarily handling complex events and maximizing revenue through upselling and enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of a variety of events.
  • Coordinate event documentation and communication with Sales, hotel departments, and customers.
  • Ensure seamless turnover from sales to service and back to sales.
  • Recognize opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements.
  • Serve as the primary contact for event planning following turnover on property.
  • Organize, plan, and prioritize duties by developing plans and goals.
  • Communicate timely with internal and external clients via various channels.
  • Create and maintain relationships with clients to meet and deliver on expectations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, and booking processes.
  • Resolve conflicts and negotiate with clients while handling complaints and grievances.
  • Sell and influence both internal and external clients.
  • Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing issues and determining solutions.
  • Ensure high-quality service by assisting others to understand guest needs and providing guidance.
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in event management, particularly with complex events.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Knowledge of event planning systems and processes.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Sales and influencing skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
