About the position

The Hilton Omaha is located in downtown Omaha, directly connected via sky bridge to CHI Health Event Center, a block from TD Ameritrade Ballpark, and less than a mile from the Old Market Entertainment District. The hotel boasts 600 guest rooms and 39,472 square feet of onsite meeting space, making it an ideal location to host large group events. The team is looking to add a Senior Event Manager to execute mid to large size groups for the hotel. As a Senior Event Manager, you will be responsible for event documentation and coordination with Sales, hotel departments, and customers to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases of all hotel events. This position primarily handles complex events and requires ensuring a seamless turnover from sales to service and back to sales. You will recognize opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events. You will serve as the primary contact for event planners following turnover on property and will be responsible for their overall experience. Your essential functions in this role include organizing, planning, and prioritizing your duties by developing plans and goals. You will communicate timely with internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents, or in person. Building and maintaining relationships with clients to set and meet their expectations is crucial, as is demonstrating knowledge of job systems, products, booking systems, and processes. You will also be responsible for resolving conflicts and negotiating with others while handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances. Selling and influencing both internal and external clients will be a key part of your role, as will making decisions and solving problems by analyzing and evaluating issues to determine the best solutions. Ensuring high-quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand guest needs, providing direction and guidance, and offering feedback and individual coaching when needed will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary, along with other duties based on business needs. Regular attendance is expected.
