About the position

The Senior Event Planner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP plays a crucial role in the Marketing and Communications department, responsible for planning and executing a variety of events across the firm's global footprint. This position requires collaboration with attorneys, marketing teams, and external vendors to ensure successful event logistics and execution, while also managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts research, sources venues, makes site visits, and provides recommendations for event locations, themes, and vendors.
  • Assists in the development of event proposals, summaries, and surveys, and prepares event elements while seeking appropriate approvals.
  • Creates and maintains event-specific budget documents, ensuring timely processing of all payments to venues and vendors.
  • Serves as the point of contact with venues during contracting phases and for all logistical elements during planning and execution stages.
  • Provides logistical and project management support for virtual events, including webinars and internal events.
  • Coordinates with the travel department for arrangements including rooming lists and ground transportation.
  • Performs administrative duties related to events, including maintaining calendars, tracking registrations, and managing attendance reporting.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends and technologies in event execution, as well as best practices and firm protocols.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional event planning experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate setting.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships in a highly matrixed work environment.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; experience with CVENT and OnArrival is desired.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a law firm or professional services firm is preferred.
  • Familiarity with virtual event technologies and platforms.
