About the position

The Signia by Hilton San Jose is seeking a Senior Event Services Manager to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of events, from the initial planning stages through to post-event follow-up. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in managing large events and will be known for their positive attitude and teamwork skills. The Senior Event Services Manager will be responsible for coordinating event documentation and liaising with various hotel departments and clients to deliver exceptional service throughout all phases of the event process. This position primarily handles complex events, requiring a keen ability to recognize opportunities for upselling and enhancing the overall event experience. In this role, you will be the primary contact for event planners after the turnover from sales, ensuring that client expectations are met and exceeded. You will be tasked with organizing, planning, and prioritizing your duties, developing clear plans and goals to achieve success. Effective communication is essential, as you will interact with both internal and external clients through various channels, including phone, email, and in-person meetings. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients is crucial to ensure their needs are understood and met. Additionally, the Senior Event Services Manager will need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of job systems, products, and booking processes. Conflict resolution and negotiation skills will be vital, as you will handle complaints and disputes while ensuring high-quality service delivery. Participation in customer site inspections and assisting with the sales process will also be part of your responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Organize, plan, and prioritize duties by developing plans and goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in event management, particularly with large groups/events.
