The Signia by Hilton San Jose is seeking a Senior Event Services Manager to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of events at the hotel, which boasts over 55,000 square feet of meeting and function space. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in managing large events and will be responsible for coordinating with various hotel departments and clients to deliver exceptional service throughout all phases of event planning and execution. The Senior Event Services Manager will act as the primary contact for event planners, ensuring that all client expectations are met and exceeded. This position requires a proactive approach to upselling and enhancing events to maximize revenue while maintaining high standards of service. In this role, you will be tasked with organizing, planning, and prioritizing your duties effectively. You will communicate promptly with both internal and external clients through various channels, including phone, email, and in-person meetings. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients is essential to ensure their needs are understood and met. You will also need to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of job systems, booking processes, and hotel products to provide informed guidance to clients. Conflict resolution and negotiation skills are crucial, as you will handle complaints and disputes while ensuring a positive experience for all parties involved. Your decision-making abilities will be tested as you analyze issues and determine the best solutions. Additionally, you will participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as needed, contributing to the overall success of the hotel's event services.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, plan, and prioritize duties by developing plans and goals.
  • Communicate timely with internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents, or in person.
  • Create and maintain relationships with clients to set and meet expectations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, booking systems, and processes.
  • Resolve conflicts and negotiate with others while handling complaints and settling disputes.

  • Ensure high-quality service by assisting others to understand guest needs and providing feedback and coaching when needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in event management, particularly with large groups/events.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Knowledge of event planning systems and processes.

  • Proven ability to upsell and enhance event experiences.
