The Signia by Hilton San Jose is seeking a Senior Event Services Manager to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of events, requiring a candidate with at least two years of experience in managing large groups and events. The ideal candidate will possess a positive and energetic attitude, demonstrating a strong commitment to teamwork and a desire to contribute to the Signia by Hilton's mission. The hotel is strategically located across from Plaza de César Chávez Park and within walking distance of the San Jose Convention Center, making it an attractive venue for business travel and events. With over 55,000 square feet of meeting and function space, the hotel is equipped to host a variety of events, complemented by signature culinary experiences and extensive fitness facilities. As the Senior Event Services Manager, you will be responsible for the documentation and coordination of events, working closely with the Sales team, hotel departments, and clients to ensure a high level of service throughout all phases of the event. This position primarily focuses on complex events, requiring a seamless transition from sales to service and back to sales. You will be the primary contact for event planners post-turnover, ensuring their experience is exceptional. Your role will also involve recognizing opportunities to maximize revenue through upselling and enhancements, thereby creating outstanding events. In this position, you will need to organize, plan, and prioritize your duties effectively, maintaining timely communication with both internal and external clients. Building and maintaining relationships with clients is crucial to meet and exceed their expectations. You will also need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of job systems, products, and booking processes, while resolving conflicts and negotiating effectively. Your ability to make informed decisions and solve problems will be essential in delivering high-quality service and ensuring guest satisfaction. Participation in customer site inspections and assisting with the sales process will also be part of your responsibilities.
