About the position

The Senior Events Manager at Care.com is responsible for developing and implementing marketing initiatives that enhance brand awareness and engagement through various events. This role involves cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful marketing campaigns and requires strong project management, creativity, and communication skills. The position is hybrid, requiring three days a week in the office in Shelton, CT.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully execute events from start to finish, coordinating all moving parts and handling last-minute changes.
  • Ensure Care for Business is well represented at sponsored events, coordinating on-site presence with event organizers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on developing event content and themes.
  • Develop new events and marketing tactics, keeping a pulse on event trends.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to determine success and areas for improvement.
  • Scout and secure event venues, negotiate contracts with vendors, and coordinate logistics.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a team of event marketers.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish quarterly OKRs aligned to business priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to drive efficiency and optimize processes.
  • Assist with contracting and budget management for events.
  • Coordinate with website and product teams to ensure timely and accurate event-related information.
  • Increase awareness and attendance of virtual events by collaborating with marketing and product teams.
  • Oversee the execution of custom seminars/webinars and support client seminars and monthly Care Talks.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in corporate, in-person event planning
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • Willing to travel up to 10% annually
  • Customer-centric with a can-do attitude and proven success in client-facing roles
  • Critical thinker with strong problem-resolution skills
  • Experience managing a budget
  • Confidence in hosting virtual meetings with large audiences
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to collect and analyze results and communicate key insights
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects
  • Adheres to project timelines and meets deadlines
  • Experience with Zoom, Google Suite, PowerPoint
