About the position

The Senior Events Manager is responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinating with sales, property departments, and customers to ensure high-level service throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases. This role primarily handles complex events and ensures a seamless transition from sales to service and back to sales. The Senior Events Manager also identifies opportunities to maximize revenue through up-selling and enhancements, while supporting the Director of Event Management or Director of Event Planning and Operations in their absence.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales and property departments.
  • Handle complex events and ensure high-level service throughout all phases.
  • Manage customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs.
  • Oversee customer experiences from file turnover through the post-event phase.
  • Conduct pre- and post-event meetings to review group needs and feedback.
  • Manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups.
  • Lead pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups.
  • Act as a liaison between field sales and customers throughout the event process.
  • Up-sell products and services during the event process.
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in event management or related area, or
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with no work experience required.
