About the position

The Senior Events Manager is responsible for overseeing complex events, ensuring high-level service throughout all phases of property events. This role involves coordinating with sales, property departments, and customers to maximize revenue through up-selling and enhancements. The Senior Events Manager acts as the primary contact for event planners and supports the Director of Event Management or Director of Event Planning and Operations in their absence.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with Sales, property departments, and customers.
  • Handle complex events and ensure a seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales.
  • Recognize opportunities to maximize revenue by up-selling and offering enhancements.
  • Lead pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups.
  • Identify operational challenges and work with property staff and customers to solve them.
  • Manage customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs.
  • Oversee customer experiences from file turnover through the post-event phase.
  • Conduct pre- and post-event meetings to review group needs and feedback.
  • Manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups.
  • Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Celebrate successes and recognize team contributions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in event management or related area, or
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with no work experience required.
