About the position

The Senior Facilities Engineer - Robotics/Automation is responsible for identifying and implementing automation solutions within various manufacturing processes, including assembly, fabrication, and logistics. This role focuses on streamlining operations to enhance efficiency while ensuring product quality and compliance with regulations. The engineer will collaborate with a diverse team, making critical decisions regarding equipment and processes to achieve operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all technical aspects of the assigned area, serving as the primary point of contact for technical changes to Plant Operations & Leadership.
  • Design, simulate, install, and monitor automation processes to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Develop and direct a robust Preventive Maintenance plan utilizing root cause analysis, PLC programming, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Provide hands-on training and guidance to the maintenance team and staff on new processes and equipment.
  • Drive process reliability through simplification, preventive maintenance, and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Uphold safety standards through Lock Out-Tag Out procedures and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide daily leadership to maintenance employees, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other technical Bachelor's Degree.
  • Proven Mechanical and Electrical/PLC Diagnostic and technical skills required.
  • Proven PLC Controls/Electrical troubleshooting experience is a must.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in programming and software development, with experience in programming robotic systems and writing PLC codes (Rockwell, Siemens, GE, and other industry standard PLC platforms).
  • Previous supervisory experience and/or experience working directly with high volume manufacturing Production Operations and Union Operators.
  • Ability to implement long-term plans into day-to-day operations.
  • Proven shop floor troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through coaching, training, and positive influencing.
