About the position

The Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business within DRS is seeking a Facilities Engineer to oversee technical activities related to design, construction, and maintenance projects. This role involves leading projects of varying complexity, ensuring timely completion within budget, and supporting the mission and values of the organization. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while guiding less-experienced staff.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for specific technical activity and completion of assigned tasks on time and budget related to the facility including design, construction, and maintenance projects.
  • May lead others on a technical activity or project.
  • Use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments.
  • Champion projects of small to large size and complexity.
  • Lead and direct the work of others as assigned or needed.
  • Regular reporting of progress and status.
  • Complete assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements.
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost, schedule, and quality as key design variables.
  • Provide budget, cost and schedule input for assignments.
  • Troubleshoot Facility equipment.
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer, or business meetings.
  • Lead less-experienced staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance as needed, which requires US citizenship.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems, HVAC systems, and Air Handling Systems.
  • 2-4 years direct experience in Facilities Engineering and application domain knowledge.
  • Familiarity with construction codes and government regulations.
  • Experience working with proposals and budgeting for facility maintenance.
  • Semiconductor experience is a plus.
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

  • Experience in semiconductor environments.
