About the position

The Senior Facilities HVAC Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems across multiple office buildings in the Bay area. This role emphasizes proactive and preventative maintenance to ensure a comfortable and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a self-motivated attitude, contributing to the overall mission of Maxar Space Systems, a leader in space technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, plumbing, and electrical interfaces.
  • Support mechanical maintenance and repair of data center infrastructure to ensure 24/7 availability of mission-critical systems.
  • Resolve temperature comfort complaints and air balancing issues.
  • Work with vendors for capital construction, maintenance, and other services.
  • Interface professionally with contractors, technicians, and in-house customers.
  • Maintain a clean work vehicle and work areas.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Universal EPA license required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a commercial, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of work order ticketing systems for creating, editing, and closing completed tickets.
  • Ability to be on call and communicate clearly in English, both in writing and speaking.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience working with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing teams.
  • Field experience in a Facilities environment including office space and laboratories.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and controls in various environments.
  • Experience in rewiring compact fluorescent light fixtures to LED fixtures.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on air handling units.
