About the position

EyePoint Pharmaceuticals is seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Technician to support a growing life science facility in Northbridge, MA. This role is integral to the Facilities and Engineering team, focusing on overseeing vendors and performing maintenance on cGMP and non-GMP Utility/Facility systems, process equipment, and clean room infrastructure. The position emphasizes a patient-centric approach and requires a professional who can thrive in a fast-paced, inclusive environment while providing high-level service to internal customers.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with cGMP requirements, including detailed documentation of work performed.
  • Report any maintenance failures or issues immediately to management.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and make recommendations for maintenance or system design improvements.
  • Continuously seek to improve maintenance practices.
  • Troubleshoot systems or equipment and make repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Track repair history of process support systems and equipment.
  • Provide support for diagnostics of all equipment to ensure continuous operations.
  • Work within the BMS system.
  • Support during annual shutdowns and develop a list of required spare parts for equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on various process support systems and equipment.
  • Conduct daily rounds of cGMP and non-GMP equipment and systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve facility maintenance practices and SOPs.
  • Escort contractors and vendors for preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure all spaces are clean and orderly.
  • Utilize CMMS system to manage completion of all preventative maintenance assignments.
  • Support quality systems for CAPA, Deviations, and Change Management.
  • Commit to performing all work in a safe manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with technical certifications or vocational training.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a facility maintenance function.
  • Mechanical skills to troubleshoot equipment and implement repairs.
  • Organizational skills to plan, coordinate, and complete maintenance activities.
  • Analytical skills to analyze equipment performance and identify optimization.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced organization.
  • Experience in life sciences, medical devices, or regulated industry.

Nice-to-haves

  • License in Wastewater Treatment, Refrigeration/Air Conditioning, Electrical, or Plumbing.
  • Preferred field of study in Industrial Maintenance, Technology Management, Engineering, or related field.
