About the position

We're seeking skilled and experienced Senior Paralegals to support our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of family law experience. You will use your experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, draft and file pleadings, interview clients, and conduct research, supporting several CFLS and senior-level attorneys. As a Senior Paralegal, you will assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits. You will also arrange law office activity such as drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers. Additionally, you will aid lawyers in trial preparation by preparing and organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, conducting research on legal articles, and assisting with client meetings and filing motions. Performing administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized will also be part of your responsibilities. You will hold client interviews to gather information about their legal problems and manage a caseload with minimal supervision, keeping case notes and preparing for case meetings. A solid understanding of court procedure and family code is essential, along with actively communicating with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits.
  • Arrange law office activity such as drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers.
  • Aid lawyers in trial preparation by preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, conducting research on legal articles, and assisting with client meetings and filing motions.
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible.
  • Hold client interviews to gather information about their legal problems.
  • Manage a caseload with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting.
  • Talented communicator and writer.
  • Candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive preference.
  • Must have great time-management skills and organizational skills.
