About the position
The Senior Federal Solutions Engineer at QTS serves as the primary technical resource for federal sales teams, providing technical solutions and support during the sales process. This role involves designing complex hosting solutions, presenting technical concepts to customers, and collaborating with internal teams to meet customer requirements effectively.
Responsibilities
- Design complex hosting solutions and corresponding services in response to customer needs with minimal supervision.
- Present advanced technical concepts clearly to customers through demonstrations, technical reviews, and design/proposal presentations.
- Effectively communicate requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with operational staff on initiatives affecting the Solutions Engineering Team.
- Respond to functional and technical elements of RFPs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 5 or more years of experience in Sales Engineering, preferably focused on managed services and custom designed solutions or applicable customer-facing experience in the federal space.
- 5 or more years of experience working in data center infrastructure (space, power, connectivity) or equivalent experience.
- 5 or more years of experience with enterprise and hyperscale colocation design, including power, cooling, and networking.

- Demonstrated strong analytical capabilities and technical knowledge by providing innovative yet supportable solutions.
- Excellent written and presentation communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical topics to varying customer audiences.

- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
