About the position

The Senior Federal Solutions Engineer at QTS serves as the primary technical resource for federal sales teams, providing technical solutions and support during the sales process. This role involves determining customer requirements, answering technical questions, and collaborating with internal teams to present comprehensive technical and service information to customers. The position is crucial in designing complex hosting solutions and effectively communicating technical concepts to various audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design complex hosting solutions and corresponding services in response to customer needs with minimal supervision.
• Present advanced technical concepts clearly to customers through demonstrations, technical reviews, and design/proposal presentations.
• Effectively communicate requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with operational staff on initiatives affecting the Solutions Engineering Team.
• Respond to functional and technical elements of RFPs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5 or more years of experience in Sales Engineering, preferably focused on managed services and custom designed solutions or applicable customer-facing experience with the federal space.
• 5 or more years of experience working in data center infrastructure (space, power, connectivity) or equivalent experience.
• 5 or more years of experience with enterprise and hyperscale colocation design, including power, cooling, and networking.
