About the position

The Federal Sr. Tax Associate is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of federal and state income and franchise tax returns, as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions. This role involves handling quarterly estimated tax and extensions, supporting documentation for audits, and various ad hoc projects as needed. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state income and franchise tax returns for the consolidated group.
• Assist with the annual R&D credit preparation.
• Compute the company's monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provision and reconcile tax accounts.
• Correspond with federal, state, and local taxing authorities to resolve tax notices.
• Gather information and prepare workpapers for federal and state audits.
• Perform tax research and monitor legislative changes to model tax outcomes for analysis.
• Handle other duties as they arise.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation from an accredited college or university.
• CPA certification is required.
• 3-5 years of corporate tax experience in industry or public accounting.
• Knowledge of OneSource income tax compliance software is required.
• Strong experience in ASC 740 is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or Hyperion is preferred.
• Familiarity with Checkpoint, BNA Tax Research, or similar online tax research engines is preferred.
