About the position

SEK is currently seeking a full-time Senior Fiduciary Tax Accountant in our Hagerstown, MD office. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in estate and trust accounting and taxation, or for recent accounting graduates eager to learn in this specialized field. As a Senior Fiduciary Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for managing multiple engagements, ensuring client satisfaction, and completing tasks in a timely manner. Your primary duties will include the preparation of fiduciary income tax returns, Federal Form 706, Maryland Form MET 1, and Pennsylvania inheritance tax return (REV-1500). Additionally, you will assist with probate administration in the Orphans' Court. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working on multiple engagements, ensuring client satisfaction and timely completion.
  • Preparation of fiduciary income tax returns.
  • Preparation of Federal Form 706 and Maryland Form MET 1.
  • Preparation of Pennsylvania inheritance tax return (REV-1500).
  • Preparation of probate administration with the Orphans' Court.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Desire and determination to become a CPA or Active CPA license.
  • 2-4 years experience preparing fiduciary income tax return, estate tax returns and estate and trust accountings.
  • Professional demeanor towards duties and responsibilities, particularly with regard to professional ethics and the exercise of professional judgment.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
  • Strong community orientation.
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications.
  • Knowledge of UltraTax a plus.
