About the position

As a Senior Field Application Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading technical engagements with customer engineering teams to design and develop innovative solutions for generators utilized in both stationary and mobile power generation applications. This position is integral to our mission of advancing distributed power generation technologies that are clean, flexible, and cost-effective. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including Engineering, Sales, and channel partners, to ensure that the solutions provided not only meet customer requirements but also inform future product development initiatives. Your responsibilities will include proactively engaging with customers to translate their requirements into effective technical solutions tailored for power generators. You will be responsible for developing detailed project specifications, pricing, and subcontractor scopes for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs). Additionally, you will provide essential engineering data, documentation, and training to facilitate the seamless integration of equipment at customer sites. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert in power generation applications, contributing valuable insights to product management and engineering teams to enhance our product portfolio. You will also support on-site commissioning of generators, troubleshoot system issues, and provide recommendations to optimize performance. Building and cultivating strong customer relationships will be crucial, ensuring that installations meet design specifications and comply with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with customers to translate requirements into effective technical solutions for power generators.
  • Develop detailed project specifications, pricing, and subcontractor scopes for RFPs/RFQs and project inquiries.
  • Provide engineering data, documentation, and training to facilitate equipment integration at customer sites.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in power generation applications, contributing to product management and engineering teams to enhance the product portfolio.
  • Support on-site commissioning of generators, troubleshoot system issues, and provide recommendations for optimal performance.
  • Cultivate strong customer relationships, ensuring installations meet design specifications and comply with industry standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering required.
  • Minimum of 7 years in a similar application engineering role within the Power Generation industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of market dynamics, industry standards (e.g., NEMA, NFPA), and emissions regulations.
  • Experience with microgrid design and projects involving natural gas/waste gas is advantageous.
